About Specialty Sleep

Specialty Sleep products are innovative beds - mattresses and foundations - that are designed to provide the restful sleep that is so important to our physical and mental well-being.

Specialty Sleep products offer customized comfort and exceptional support through five key technologies: air, flotation, latex, visco foam and adjustable beds. In addition, some Specialty Sleep models combine various technologies to create unique surface feels and support mechanisms, offering consumers a broad array of sleep support choices.

Dale Read, Vice President of the Specialty Sleep Association and an industry writer who specializes in bedding and sleep products, believes that consumer trends are driving the upsurge in retailer interest in specialty sleep.

“In the last several years, we’ve seen a renewed interest in latex, flotation, air and other specialty products and this trend is going to continue,” said Read. “The aging of America, the prevalence of sleep disorders, and emphasis on health and wellness is encouraging consumers to re-examine their sleeping options. They are learning that there is a wide choice of beneficial sleep surfaces.”
